Hello world,
I play with The Ragged Band. We have just produced a new CD (we pick it up
next Monday!) with the above title. I'm hoping that you, gentle reader,
will be able to offer advice on how we might promote it.
The CD is a mixture of songs and tunes from Ireland, Cornwall (sung in
Cornish), Australia and Scotland, including several we have penned
ourselves. We are not traditional musicians - the style is closer to
Carthy/Swarbrick.
Song titles:
Up the Sides. . (Chief O'Neill's Favourite/Off to California)
Red is the Rose
Athole Highlanders
Dreams of Love
Gwalchmei's Farewell
Ramble Away
Cornish Midsummer Bonfire Song/Plethen Newlyn
Weevils in the Flour
Julie Johnston
An Lader
March of the King of Laoise
The Sweet Nightingale
Tear the Woolshed Down
Anowre Gwalchmei
Particularly, it would be good to get the CD reviewed by relevant magazines
and played on suitable radio programmes. Can you suggest who we should send
it to?
We haven't tied down any distribution deals yet, but the CD will be
available from Aussie Music Online - point your browser at:
http://www.aussiemusic.com.au/
I'm writing this before details have been finally settled, but look under
new releases, folk, or world music (hate that title!).
Also, would anybody like to review the CD for this list? (one only)
many thanks
