pizza is most certainly italian. most people think it started in naples;
it was more popular in the south of italy than the north. since most
italian immigrants to the usa came from the south, we now have a
tradition of pizza here, although it changed over time and now we have
new york style pizza, chicago style, etc. most pizza i've seen over
there is individual-sized, about 12 or 14 inches, with emphasis on the
crust and toppings. much less tomato sauce and cheese than we are used to.
i really wonder where the non-italian theory came from.
