Sorry if this has been covered before on the list, but ...
I've always wondered if there was any documentation relating the
ancient Greeks to Ireland - say for colonization? I ask because I
noticed in some Western Civ textbook years ago the Greeks (Athenian,
I think) referred to as Tuatha de Danaan (the people of Dana). The
only other place I've heard of this is the group by the same name in
The descriptions of the two groups sound fairly familiar, and the
Greeks ARE known to have been active sailors and colonizers around
the same period.
Does anyone know of any books or research or rumor about this?
