it's struck me as immensely interesting that as he was dying
Cuchulain requested that he be tied to a dolmen and left this world
on his feet. Wow, most of us prefer to make the passage laying down
(and with lotsa drugs).
Unless dying standing up tied to old StoneHenge like stones was the
fad back then and everyone did it, this is an important clue regarding
what it is heroes did. Why did he do that? Did he want to align his
three cauldrons vertically with the heavens and earth and exit via the
head? Or was it just his equivalent of "dying with your boots on",
an alpha male-like thing? Anybody have a clue?
Or better yet, know much about how Druids did die?
