Dear Fellow Algal Biologists,
The blue-green alga Synechococcus R-2 (PCC 7942) from the
Pasteur Culture Collection is a workhorse of algal physiology. Nobody seems
to know where it came from, who put it in the PCC or its habitat. I have
heard that "it came from California" (very helpful information!).
It would be a help for all physiological studies of this
alga if we had some environmental information on the beast.
Can anyone help. I will forward it to the PCC.

                        Ray RITCHIE
