POST-DOC POSITION AVAILABLE
ALGAL PHYSIOLOGICAL ECOLOGY
A Post-Doctoral Research Associate position is available on
a recently funded NSF grant. The position is funded for three years and
is available from October 1, 1995 (a later start date may be
negotiable). The research involves the active oxygen metabolism and
stress physiology of intertidal seaweeds. The post-doc will be
responsible for conducting field and laboratory experiments, including
measurement of cellular content of antioxidants, activities of enzymes
involved in active oxygen metabolism, and breakdown products associated
with oxidative damage to lipids and proteins. Experience in some or all
of the following techniques is preferable, but not essential:
photosynthetic physiology, HPLC, enzyme assays, SDS-PAGE, Western
blotting and autoradiography of labelled proteins.
