Sadly (in my opinion), only a couple of the great many acts
mentioned play really traditional music. Most people who play
"Celtic" music play a commercialised, syntho-metropolitanised
style which is 'inspired' by traditional music, but isn't the
real thing, mostly because they'd have very small audiences
if they did.
There are, however, a few real traditional acts. There will
be a lecture/performance of Scots ballads by a variety of
excellent singers -- I think on the 27 of August, but I'm not
completely sure. Also, the renowned John MacInnes and Margret
Bennett will be singing Gaelic Jacobite songs contemporary with
the Rising, as a commemoration.
There will likely be a handful of other traditional offerings,
though I've not seen the programme yet...
