Dear Mr. Dzidonu:
 
I read of AFRIK-IT and ANITEP through our WWW page for the Society on
Social Implications of Technology (SSIT).  Joe Herkert (President) and I
((Past President) are conducting a study for the Institute of Electrical
and Electroni Engineers on the implications of IEEE's transition to
electronic communication and information dissemination.
 
We are now forming a Panel of Experts who will be asked to respond to 3
rounds of a questionnaire regarding this issue.  We have been having
difficulty getting a nomination for our panel from Africa.  We think it
is very important that the region is represented in our study. \
 
 
Are you a member of IEEE, or perhaps a customer of IEEE products or
services?  If so, we would be delighted if you would consider joining our
panel. If you are not involved with IEEE, we would very much appreciate
your suggestion as to someone we could contact.
