The Galatians were a group of three tribes that were invited into Asia Minor by
Nicodemus I of Bythnia to act as mercenaries in his behalf. They settled in an
area in what is in modern-day Turkey. They were not Celtic Israelites. They
 were
 
 
 
 (oops) were Celtic mercenaries whose arrival in those parts can be dated to
about 287 b.c.
