This list has been a little slow since its inception. I suppose this is common
for new lists. Maybe we should kick off with a round of introductions.
 
My name is Alan a.k.a. Tubby.  I live and work in South Africa.  Within a
corporate environment, I 'manage' a small team that provides DBA skills
and consultancy (IT assessments, master technology plans, etc.).  The
DBA skills are focused on Client/Server development.  We have always
believed in the 'Fat server' model (stored procedures etc.) but the 3-Tier
model looks even better.

Favourite Server Opsys: Solaris
Favourite Workstation Opsys: OS/2, NT,  Win 95. (i.e. not Unix).
