Thanks to those who responded to my last posting concerning my ideas that
the ancient Celts were not flower children, even though one person responded
in Gaelic and may have been insulting my parentage for all I know.
My ideas were concerning the ancient Celts as a warrior socity not those of
today who are of Celtic ancestry. I do not care how Celtic you may be in
ancestry, you would not be able to relate intirely to the Celts of the remote
It is OK to honour your past, your Celtic past in whatever way you wish, but
the ideals, ethics, etc. we have in modern society would not relate very well
in the reality of the ancient Celtic world. You can have all the lofty fairy
tale ideals you wish here in this modern world, but in the world of the
ancient Celts where reality was a cold fact you turned the other check you
would loose your head!
I am not a scholar of Celtic anything, but I know what is real in the way
I see things and I do not believe the ancient Celts were flower sniffing
hippies of their time. Forgiving, loving, etc. have their place, but in the
world of the ancient Celts, killing one's enemies was much better.
