Concerning the CD "Music From Matt Molloy's" , Matt Molloy is not on the
CD himself. The recording equipment was studio-quality and set up in
advance, but it was in his pub on an ordinary evening and so there is some
background noise, not so surprising perhaps. The contents are of varying
style, not all "traditional" but certainly "folk", the people playing are
all local and obviously very good. There is no piping, even though there is
a piper on the cover. There is some solo guitar and some solo singing.
Whether you like it or not is impossible to predict, but it is
genuine Irish session music of today, just what you expect to hear in a
west-coast pub. Hope it helps.
