I've got the CD and play it quite a bit. Molloy is on 7 of the 20 tracks,
usually as just one of the group, but taking the lead on a set of reels
and a very nice slow air whose English name is The Parting of Friends. He
is accompanied on these two by guitarist Arty McGlynn (of Patrick Street,
etc.) who is the only other musician on the CD I had heard of. The rest
are primarily local Mayo people and other regulars. The playing is
generally of high quality. There are four songs and sixteen sets of tunes.
As for the recording quality, well you definitely know you're in a pub.
Its pretty distracting at first with the low point being track four on
which a sean nos singer competes with several patrons who clearly weren't
there to listen. It gets considerably better after that, so you get the
atmosphere without the aggravation. I would recommend it.
