To the owner of CELTIC-L:
Please post the following message to your subscribers.
A friend has a daughter named Maev. While the name is traditional
in this family (McBride) they are not sure of its origin, whether
there is an English equivalent, and are aware of just one or two
literary or historical (Welsh, I think) citations.
I'd be grateful if subscribers to this list could help out by
responding directly with answers or suggest an appropriate
source of information on the internet or in the library.
