The fourth member (and not the least important) Planxty member was Donal Lunny,
who played bouzouki (mostly a 10-string oversized model), bodhran en even
vocals on some occasions.
It was the rather special (for those days) interaction between Andy Irvine and
Donal, either both on bouzouki or Andy on mandolin and Donal on bouzouki, that
gave Planxty their unique sound.
BTW. my favourite album is "After the Break", on which Matt Molloy joined
them once again.
