| Gaelic?  I am awfully interested in learning Gaelic despite the fact that
| not too many people actually can speak it.

  Immediate availability of materials from where you are in the States
may be difficult.  However, the "Teach Yourself" series of books has new
editions about Irish *and* Scottish Gaelic (be specific on which you
mean).
  Other than that, try your library, or order materials from Scotland
or Ireland.
