Sorry folks, but I got this little gem from an irish saint exhorting a
warrior from committing the abomination of head-collecting, blood-drinking,
and brain-eating as something foreign to the warriors new christian faith.
One version read by these cataract-improved eyes, the other on the BBC
series, THE CELTS, by Frank Delancey(?).
As to this being an outsider's defaming of the Celts, please allow me to say
that IMHO (that of a Welsh, Scottish, and Irish descendant), if this was a
cultural activity and we try to white-wash our past, then we are
romanticising and ignoring the reality of our heritage. Both good and bad.
That thoughtless denial of a historical claim is an ignorance I find
But that's my opinion.
