My father always said he was Irish, but obviously his family was Scots
Irish, from a time when they didnt even realize the
difference between that and pure Irish, from Ireland. From what I read
of history, the family probably had been back and forth between the
islands for too many times to count, over the centuries.
I am now looking forward to the next holiday - Beltaine. Here in
Berkeley there is a great tradition, which we just discovered last year:
Morris dancing at dawn on May 1. Can someone tell me the origins of
that? It seems too Celtic to be purely English! Anelle (McCarty)
