APRIL 29-MAY1, 1994
        The Harvard Celtic Department cordially invites students, faculty,
and colleagues to present a paper on work-in-progress at out Fourteenth Annual
Harvard Celtic Colloquium, scheduled from April 29 to May 1, 1994 in the
Seminar Room, Second Floor, 61 Kirkland Street, Cambridge.
        The Annual Vernam Hull Lecture entitled "Edward Lhuyd and the Welsh
Manuscripts" by Dr. Brynley F. Roberts, Director Emeritus of the National
Library of Wales, is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 1994 in the
Faculty Club Library, 20 Quincey Street, Cambridge.
        Papers on any subject pertaining to Celtic languages, the literatures
of Celtic languages, and cultural, historical or social science topics directly
related to these are welcome.  If you are interested in giving a paper, please
contact the Celtic Department to request a reply form at (617) 495-1206, or
email to [log in to unmask]  Papers should be of a length suitable for
twenty minutes' presentation. There will be a short discussion period after
each paper.
        The Committee especially encourages papers pertaining to Celtic
archaeology, Welsh linguistics, Early Welsh heroic poetry, the Mabinogi,
Arthurian literature, and Early Irish and Welsh law, as this year' s
"Proceedings..." will be dedicated to Prof. John T. Kock of the Celtic Dept.,
        Please return reply form and abstract no later than March 25, 1994.
        Confirmations will be sent by April 8, 1994.
        Participants will be invited to submit their papers for consideration
for publication by the Editorial Committee of the "Proceedings of the Harvard
Celtic Colloquium".
