Right on target, re Romans and bagpipes.
 
My favorite Roman cite for the bagpipes comes
from the pseudo-Vergilian poem, the "Copa."
The heroine of the poem, a barmaid, does a
lascivious dance, all the while accompanying
herself with a bagpipe (uileann).
