This is to let you know about the approaching 2nd Anniversary (Friday, 3rd
Dec 93) of the Coombspapers electronic archives.
 
Coombs Computing Unit, RSSS/RSPacS, ANU has commenced its Networked
Information Services  by establishing on the 3rd Dec 1991 the
"Coombspapers" electronic archive - an anonymous ftp facility on
coombs.anu.edu.au
machine.
 
Two years later, in December 1993, the following range of information
facilities is made available from the Coombs Computing Unit world-wide
via AARNet/Internet:
 
* Coombspapers (Social Sciences Research Data Bank)
* Coombs Listservs (electronic forums)
* ANU-xxx-xxx series of WAIS Dbases
* Coombsquest (Social Sciences Information Facility)

the world's leading electronic social sciences & humanities information
facility.
 
Besides providing quick access to the pioneering Coombspapers
anon.FTP archive (described above) the Coombsquest gopher offers:
 
- Direct access to all ANU-xxx-xxx series of WAIS format databases
- Online searching of other major social sciences international databases
- Direct access to selected info.resources, directories and network guides
- Thematic links to leading soc.sci.& humanities inf.facilities world-wide
- Direct access to the six gopher-based specialist study areas:
