The Pictish Arts Society is a very interesting group of people seriously
pursuing Pictish studies, with a variety of strong backgrounds in
archaeology, philology, etc. They have some 300 members worldwide, but
are based in Du/n Eidin [Edinburgh].
They hold monthly lectures in the School of Scottish Studies at the Uni
of Edinburgh, and have frequent archaeological field trips during the
friendly months of the year (ie, spring and summer).
They publish a professional journal quarterly, with updates on new finds
(which seem to be very frequent of late) and general articles on things
Pictish and Celtic, which is sent to all members of the PAS.
Membership fee is #8 for Britain, #12 for those outside of Britain:

Fee for the annual conference on the Picts is negligable, about #3 as I
recall. It's being held at something like the Lime Tree Centre (?) -
I can post more details as I get them.
