Actually, I offered to look up details on the death of Simon de Montfort.
In any case I was one generation out, Simon de Montfort of the Knights
Templars was the father of the man asked about in the original article in
celtic-l. Simon de Montfort snr was killed besieging Toulouse on behalf of the
pope in 1218.
