Here is the end of the roscad.
Bladma cen blath.
Aine cen hol.
Echtgi cen ag.
Laigin hi ngair.
Laigis os chach.
Eli do meth.
Eri cen maith.
O sin immach
coti in brath.
Above 'Eli' someone wrote 'desci(rt?)'. The end of the word is difficult to see.
There may be a faint fada above the 'i' in 'Aine' but it could just be a stray mark.
The first words of the lines are colored red, except for 'O sin himmach coti in brath'. That
part is fainter and seems to have been added after the big 'C' of the next story was inked in.
The abbreviation for 'et reliqua' is in darker ink again. I wonder if someone added the last
two lines of the poem later? I can't see a definite difference in the handwriting, though.
Still 4 syllables each line, ending in a stressed word.
Alliteration - bladma/blath
Aine/hol may alliterate as I don't think the 'h' was pronounced.
Comments welcome. Liz
