The epithet 'Mór' does not necessarily indicate that the bearer was 'big' in
an absolute sense. It may just mean that he is older (and therefore intially
bigger) that another member of the family with the same name.
Díarmait mac Cerbaill (died AD 565) had three sons:
-Colmán Mór (who predecesed his father sometime between 555 and 558);
-Colmán Bec (died 587); and
-Áed Sláne (died 604).
(My own father's brothers included a 'Big Les' and a 'Little Les'.)
