The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in conjunction with Trinity
College Dublin (TCD) are holding a 2-day International Symposium on Domestic
Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems on 10th & 11th Sept 2012.
The subject of on-site wastewater treatment and disposal is high on the
public's agenda at the moment in Ireland due to the introduction of new
national legislation for the registration, operation and maintenance of
There have also been significant advances in research in this area over the
last 10 years, which led to the development of a new Code of Practice (EPA
publication) for on-site wastewater treatment and disposal.
Ireland is at a turning point with respect to this issue which is why the
EPA and TCD believe the time is ideal to hold such a Symposium to present
recent findings, discuss the content and context of new legislation and to
share experiences / best practice from other international jurisdictions.
It is expected that the audience for the Symposium will be a mixture of
academics, representatives from Governmental Agencies and Local Authorities
and those who work in the on-site industry (site-assessors, engineers,
hydrogeologists, treatment plant manufacturers etc).
CLOSING DATE EXTENDED UNTIL TUESDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2012. Further details
including the conference Programme can be found at the link below
