I held a small symposium/workshop on Celtic Linguistics in December
(you may have seen it on the Celtic Linguistics group on facebook).
We had people from Leiden University, DIAS, the University of Glasgow,
and the University of Edinburgh in attendance. Everyone there agreed
that it was good and that we should do it again. Therefore, I am
organizing another one for a weekend in late June or early July (July
30/July 1 or July 7/8).
In addition, I am soliciting papers in other Celtic research areas so
not purely or only linguistics. So, if you would like to come to
Edinburgh on either of those weekends, please get in touch with me at
[log in to unmask] with a title and an abstract of the proposed talk.
The talk should be 20-30 and leave time for discussion.
I do have a PhD in Celtic from the University of Edinburgh
(http://hdl.handle.net/1842/3320). However, I do not have a formal
connection with them at this time. Therefore, the gathering will not
be at the University of Edinburgh but either in my own offices or at
another place yet to be specified (it will depend on how many people
get back to me).
One last thing to note, I am hoping that we can get enough papers to
publish them as either a volume or a special issue of a Celtic
journal. So, if you are an editor of a journal and are interested,
please be in touch.
