Can anybody help in the etymology of the above? It has been suggested to me
that the word which in Irish means 'liberality, hospitality, generosity' is
related to the Gaulish Sucellus from su- meaning 'good' and -cellos meaning
'striker' and featuring in epigraphy and iconography. Does that idea stand
up to closer scrutiny?
