Yeah, that's not a very satisfactory reading. I suppose we could
decide that Taidg is not the genitive, but rather a deliberate
deformation of the nominative by the poet in order to get a rhyme with
Tail. In that case we'd have "Tadhg was not taken by hand" = Tadhg
was not captured.
