Yes, I am Fiona of the Many Questions (Fiona Ceistanna mhor?)
Thank you for the text suggestions. I dont have any of these...but a
diligent 2 day search did turn up Barry Raftery's Pagan Celtic Ireland,
(suggested by Charles) and The Ancient Celts (Cunliffe).
We are in the middle (?) muddle (?) of house renovations making it
difficult for me to find my books and when I actually know where they
are, it can sometimes be difficult or impossible to get to them. The
renos won't be finished for several months and I didnt want to wait that
long when some questions arose for me.
Its important to me to paint as accurate a picture for my reader as I
can,(a work of historical fiction) in order to pull them into the story and
make the story come alive. In cases where specifics are not definatively
known from the archeological record, I hope to be able to at least make
an educated guess and paint a plausible picture.
In flipping through Raftery's book, I saw pictures of the curious bronze
Y artifacts, thought to be parts ofhorse harness...I wonder if they were
spurs? Sigh...more questions.
