What an amazing set of responses! I am dumbfounded. I was going to suggest
that we take a breather and attack A Mór Maigne Moige Síuil instead for
awhile: that way I could have time to work over the whole poem and try to
come up with something better than some of these perfectly inane postings
that I've had to be dashing off in a hurry. I have a scratch attempt at the
next three verses in hand alright, but I think I could improve on it if I
had more time to study the poem as a whole. Like all of ye, I'm trying to
fit a lot of things into the day.
So what do ye think? we can carry on as we have been these last few weeks,
I'll keep posting the verses with my hastily scrabbled-together attempts, or
we could take a break with something else while I try to get a handle on
this one. Cathy Swift had a suggestion, too, but I expect she's still doing
eremitical exercises, lucky devil.
Oh, and, I was amazed when I started tuning into this 'list' (is this a
standard term in this strange cyber-world, or whatever it may be?) at how
much time people seemed to be spending on it; I am greatly relieved, Dennis,
to hear that you are not, in fact, glued to the computer, sure that would be
very uncomfortable anyway.
PS. I guess I'll post the next two or three verses anyway, just to show good
faith, and carry on until somebody blows the whistle for time out and gives
me a break.
