CALL FOR PAPERS
Dear Marine Botany Colleagues,
We are currently requesting contributions for a Special Issue of the journal
Botanica Marina, which will be dedicated to the Gulf of California. Manuscripts
covering a wide range of subjects in marine botany will be considered. Focus
can range from the subcellular to the ecosystem level, including mangroves,
seagrasses, beach dune vegetation, seaweeds, phytoplankton,
microphytobenthos, and marine fungi. We will consider topics ranging from
marine algal and marine angiosperm systematics, floristics, ecology,
biogeography, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, chemistry (including
pollution), industrial processes and utilization. Checklists or equivalent
manuscripts may be considered for publication only if they provide new and
relevant information on taxonomy for the region.
Manuscripts may present data from the Pacific region of the Baja California
peninsula, but they must contain information related to the Gulf of California,
for example in a comparative or complimentary sense.
The editorial policy of Botanica Marina will be adhered to. Instructions for
authors can be found at the Botanica Marina webpage at
Full length contributions as research papers and reviews will be accepted.
Each manuscript will be published Online First immediately after acceptance,
and will then appear as part of the Special Issue on the Gulf of California when
printed. This Special Issue of Botanica Marina will also be published as a book
by de Gruyter, assuring a greater exposure of the accepted manuscripts.
