I for one have always regretted not having a better familiarity with Irish, both to be able to reliably pronounce tune names and to understand Irish song lyrics. There is no substitute for a live teacher, but I was interested to see that Rosetta Stone has recently developed an Irish language module. Reagan National Airport has a Rosetta Stone booth, where I had the opportunity to take the module for a test drive. The pronunciation of the speakers is said to be close to what is taught in school in Ireland, with some later introduction to dialect. If I ever replace my late, lamented laptop -- victim of a fried hard-drive -- I may invest in it.
