There's an interesting G major setting called "The Millstone" in O'Neill's
"Waifs & Strays", no. 323, with some nice variations. Sounds better played
with at least some inflected notes, of course. That setting is from
Professor William McMahon of San Francisco, "the sweetest Irish violin
player that ever came or ever will come to the Pacific coast" (George
Leech's pre-Martin Hayes comment, quoted by O'Neill in "Irish Minstrels and
Musicians", p416; on p481 of the same book there is a photograph of McMahon
with the other members of the Irish Pipers' Club, San Francisco).
