When I saw the date of publication I wondered also whether Ó Máille was
aware that some of the entries in AU were written contemporaneously with
the events they describe, while others were interpolated at a later
date. A lot of work has been done on sorting these out, but had enough
been done when Ó Máille wrote his analysis?
