Yes F is a lovely key, as are almost all flat keys.
Usually not a big problem for a fiddler.
The few times I have played with Martin Hayes, he was in D also. But I know
that Martin has a second fiddle permanently tuned to Eb (at least he had it
8 years ago....oh my, time flies.)
