GEANT are in the process of decomissioning their dublin router. Two
circuit migrations have already been carried out as part of this work, so
that we currently only have a single circuit remaining on the affected
This remaining circuit between HEAnet and the GEANT Dublin router will be
decomissioned on the 22 May. This circuit is a backup link so no
disruption is expected. The fibre will then be reused as a 10Gbps link
between HEAnet and the GEANT Paris router.
The primary link between HEAnet and GEANT will be unaffected by this work,
so no disruption to traffic is expected.
20080509 16:34 PC - Opening ticket to track the work.
20080522 17:52 PC - The changes were made as planned, however the circuit
is not operational. The circuit appears to be fine between Dublin and
London, however a loss of signal has been detected between London and
Paris. GEANT are investigating the problem.
20080527 16:38 DW Problem has been solved, link is up. We plan to bring up
BGP at 17:00, which will bring this link into use as a backup link.

tentatively scheduled for 17:00 tomorrow, 28th May.
