While NUIG have been connected to the Kilcarbery CRS router for some weeks,
the Citywest connection had not been configured. Commissioning this link
requires the decommissioning of a redundant National Backbone Dublin -
Galway GE. The new NUIG link will be patched at both ends and configured
prior to the maintenance window on Wednesday morning.
There should be no noticeable effect on traffic to NUIG. When the new BGP
session is configured traffic will flip over to using the new link without
20080410 11:22 BN Confirmed dates with NUIG. Repatching will take place on
20080414 10:07 BN The work to move the redundant NB link will take place
this morning. No client traffic will be affected.
20080415 17:29 BN The NUIG transition will now no longer take place on
Wednesday 16th. Rather the work has been postponed until Tuesday 22nd.
20080421 16:58 BN Due to possible issues with the physical Dublin <->
Galway link this work is being further postponed.
