BGP session between HEAnet and Janet has dropped. Caused by line outage
between Belfast and Warrington

Fibre break 83km out to sea, caused by a third party. Boat and divers have
been dispatched, but due to the "difficult nature of the fault" cannot
provide an estimated time to repair.
Awaiting update from Janet, who await updates from Verizon.
20080202 08:08 DL Update received from JANET on 01 Feb 2008 15:24: Verizon
have informed us that due to extreme weather conditions in the Irish sea
the repair boat is still in dock. There is as yet no estimated time to
repair the link.
20080204 11:21 BN Janet have informed us that the repair boat is now in
position and while they do not, as yet, have a confirmed time to fix, they
will provide us with further updates.
20080208 12:46 BN The cable splicing is now complete and full service is
expected to be restored on the line by 00:00 Saturday 9th Feb.
