ESBT. Investigating the cause.
20080201 12:43 LT Seeking assistance from NSN on interpreting ADVA alarms,
call reference HEANET-J-004-2008.
20080201 16:49 LT Limerick PoP contacts confirm no activity in the PoP
there that may have caused the outages. Waiting on responses from E-net
and ESBT regarding their networks.
20080201 17:18 LT E-net have confirmed that a customer installation in
Cork was carried out by one of their fibre contractors last night at the
time of the outages. These contractors were working on the tube carrying
the HEAnet link fibres and the likelihood is that the outages were the
result of micro bends introduced while re-routing the slack on the fibres
in the splice tray. The works were completed at the time and the link has
been stable since the outages.
