Problem Description:
Following failure of a UPS recently, TCD will be carrying out some
investigation and testing of the UPS during this scheduled time period.
The UPS is currently bypassed and the work will involve cutting back to
the UPS and verifying its operation during a generator test. Assuming
correct behaviour of the UPS no outage will occur, but links should be
considered at risk for the duration.

Problem Effects:
Loss of connectivity to the following sites during any power outage: DIAS,
GDA, Mater Dei, Oireachtas, RIA, SVUH, TCD.


Loss of resilience to the following sites during any power outage: DIT,
HEAnet NOC, IT Tallaght, NCIRL, NUIG, UCD.


Problem History:
20080227 14:47 LT Opening ticket to track.

20080229 16:05 LT No impact on any of our equipment during the scheduled
period, and no problems since. Closing ticket.

Time to Fix:
90mins scheduled, no outage occured.
