Problem Description:
INEX plan to install 10G cards on all their switches. Simultaneously, they
plan to move HEAnet's 10G connection onto one of the new cards. After the
switch, they will complete the L2 split of the INEX network, into two
separate broadcast domains.
Problem Effects:
During the maintenance window, some traffic between HEAnet & clients and
other INEX clients will reroute via HEAnet's 1G peering at INEX, but no
actual outage is expected.
Problem History:
20080211 14:52 BB Opening ticket to track work. Confirming with INEX that
all 10G users have 1G alternatives.
20080211 15:02 BB INEX Ops have confirmed that there will be no problem
reaching all other INEX clients through the 1G alternative. HEAnet are the
only 10G client so far.
20080226 15:45 BB Maintenance complete.
