Further to my posting of 28th August 2006 re the untranslated line-
"Is in drongach regda cnis" [L: as drongach noradha gáis]I noticed the text is one of many now available at http://www.ucd.ie/tlh/published.html. However the line is still left untranslated and below is the reason which Niall Brady gives"Dear Mr. Smith, Thank you for your comments and for your interest in the TLH website. Regarding your question about the translation: our translation is an electronic reproduction of the printed original by R. I. Best, who edited the text in 1910. The line of the verse you cite is obscure in the original language, and Dr. Best declined to make an attempt at translating it. This is a matter of TLH policy; whenever we re-publish translations prepared by earlier editors, we preserve their exact text, including such omissions. Niall Brady,Editor, TLH Project,School of Irish, Celtic Studies, Irish Folklore & Linguistics,University College Dublin"
Would any list member like to have a crack at translating the line which Dr.Best felt unable to attempt?
