As a consequence of scheduled maintenance work this morning, tracked in
ticket #20080123-12, routes to some of the address ranges in the Services
network in Blanchardstown stopped being advertised to the rest of the
network. One range known to have been affected was that for the ICHEC
Bluegene front-end devices, but there may have been others also.
At least one portion of the services network was unreachable for the
20080130 10:18 LT Restoration of BGP session between cr2-cwt and a services
router in Blanch restored connectivity. Investigations are under way to
identify why traffic did not failover to alternative routes while this BGP
session was down.
20080130 13:19 LT Clearing existing BGP sessions has resolved the problem
and all routes now appear to be propagating correctly, providing resilient
paths to all address ranges in the Blanch services network. Continuing to
