Both primary and backup JANET circuits are down
Loss of connecivity to JANET. Traffic will reroute via GEANT

20070916 12:05 JH The link recover at 10:19. JANET NOC had no planned work
and don't have a reason for the outage.

20070917 10:14 GAR Call from Dan (Janet.) Verizon could not see any
problem, and suggest that we should check for power failures or cables
being pulled out and later replaced. I noted that we had no power events
that I could see.
I will double check for localised power events and notes of any cable
issues / planned works surrounding cables and let Dan know.
20070917 16:02 GAR Spoke with Justyna in UPC. (Tel: 1800 924225) There
were planned works to effect a repair to the fibre on the Merrion Rd.,
reference number RFC26012. These works were scheduled from 1:00am until
early morning, exact time not given due to having to discover the nature
of the damage, on the 16th Sep.
Since both janet links are carried on the same UPC fibre (Cct. Ref: CREF
2945-7) at this point, this explains the loss of both links.
Holding ticket open for 24 hours to monitor links.
