A chairdean,

Some strange uses of “ceann” in TYG which I would be very grateful for 
explanations of:
1 o Cheann Loch Chille Chlarain
2 ann an Ceann a Tuath Afraca

I suppose it may just be a place name, but would still be grateful for an 
explanation of the role it plays in the term in question.
