I am reading a translation of an Icelandic saga "The Saga of King Hrolf
Kraki". It includes a story of King Hring of Norway, an older widower.
He sends a group of men off to find him a new wife and they bring back a
young and beautiful woman from the North.
The new Queen is unhappy and tries to seduce King Hring's adult son,
Bjorn. (Bjorn means 'bear'). Bjorn rejects her and slaps her so she turns
him into a bear. King Hring goes out hunting with a group of men and
kills the bear. Liz Gabay
