NUIG have cut the power campus wide
Traffic to and from NUIG, St. Angela's College, CAO (backup), Tipperary
Institute (backup) and our peering to Akamai.
20060204 12:52 OMG Rang Phillip Graham who informed me that there was a
scheduled power outage in NUIG this weekend to facilitate adding extra
racks to their server room. Left a message with George Deacy asking him to
call me back. Philip says the work should be completed by 5pm and power
should be returned then.
Contacting St. Angela's, CAO, Tipperary Institute and Akamai to let them
know the reason for outage.
20060204 13:44 OMG Power was restored at 13:38 and connectivity has been
restored to above mentioned clients. Waiting to hear back from Phillip to
make sure this is a permanent solution before closing the ticket.
20060204 14:12 OMG Phillip says that the power may go up and down again,
but that it should be stable by 5pm.
20060204 18:04 OMG All our equipment has been up since 13:38 and Martin
Eagleton informs me that the work has been completed successfully on their
end. Will monitor for 24 hours before closing the ticket.
