As I noted over on the Indesign list, I believe the best way to handle 
this sort of thing (client wants good quality logotype, small 
file-size) in a Word .doc is to make a custom font out of the logo, set 
the embedding bits appropriately and it'll go along embedded in the 
Word .doc and render at full resolution on all systems using Word.
