CAO backup circuit down (DPL 226188).
CAO is unaffected as this is their backup circuit, but they have no
20051101 12:52 OMG The circuit went down at the same time as the power
outage in the Galway PoP occured, but this circuit did not recover when
the generator kicked in. Rang Peter in the CAO and he is checking to see
if there is any problem their end. Logged the fault with Eircom who have
issued ticket # 0048.
20051101 14:22 JH Eircom have called to said they see no alarms on there
20051101 15:22 OMG Circuit is still down. Asked Evelyn in NUIG PoP to
examine Lucien and Eircom's equipment. She discovered that the interfaces
on the Eircom equipment are flashing red. Contacted Eircom again and asked
them to re-open the ticket as the problem is not resolved yet. They have
issued another ticket referece #0065. Am awaiting a call back from the
engineer to update me on the problem.
20051101 16:49 OMG No update from engineer so I called Eircom again.
Cormac (1800 616616) said that the last mention in their ticket was for
the Field Service Team to "check orkits at both end" and that this
wouldn't be done until tomorrow morning. Requested that Eircom call us
with an update first thing tomorrow morning.
20051102 15:08 OMG Still no update on the problem after two more calls to
eircom (one just after 9am and another at 12.30). Have escalated the
problem with our account manager.
20051102 15:28 OMG Eoin Brennan from Eircom rang to say that their NTU box
didn't come back properly after the power problems in NUIG yesterday. They
reset the box and the link came back up at 15:22. Monitoring for 24 hours
Time to Fix:
1 day 4 hrs and 5 mins.
